COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish benchmarks that healthcare organizations can use to define Community Disaster Response roles for hospital security departments.
- Establish Disaster-related training programs, guidelines and competencies for hospital security personnel, including hospital personnel assigned to security during a disaster/emergency.
- Establish common terms and processes to ensure interoperable communications during disasters. This includes, but is not limited to radio, telephone and WebEOC software.
- Review, evaluate and share best practices for hospital security departments and incorporate them into their hospital’s emergency response plans where applicable. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Radiological emergency response
- Role in decontamination procedures
- Emergency 2-way radio cross-patch capability and use
- WebEOC integration
- Access control procedures for emergencies
- CCTV Systems
