One of the primary functions of the STRAC IT staff is maintaining and administering the WebEOC instance utilized across the 22 counties of Trauma Service Area P (TSA-P). WebEOC is a web-enabled emergency management platform used to share critical information amongst Emergency Managers, Responders, Health Care Providers, and other involved parties during an incident.
Because of the criticality of WebEOC, the
STRAC IT staff has designed an architecture that provides a highly available
system that is resistant to downtime or outages. The IT staff is continuously customizing and
improving WebEOC, to maximize its effectiveness. The team also works with users to resolve any
problems they may encounter.
The Support team also manages the technology
infrastructure necessary for STRAC's daily operations, including servers,
desktops, and laptop systems, as well as unique components such as video
teleconferencing servers and other peripheral devices. The Support team also manages several email
lists used by STRAC to provide member organizations and affiliates with
important information in a timely manner, and to facilitate discussion among
those individuals.
